The ‘musical essence’ of Hawkins will go on, claims group lead by Dave Grohl.

Taylor Hawkins, the band’s veteran drummer, died at 50.

“Our dear Taylor Hawkins passed away tragically and untimely,” the band’s official account said.

Taylor Hawkins Cause Of Death

Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters drummer, was found dead in a hotel room in Bogota.

Several Colombian newspapers reported that investigators have yet to determine the cause of death.

“Persons close to him say he died from drug overdose.”

Late Friday night, the Foo Fighters confirmed Hawkins’ death.

“The Foo Fighters family is crushed by the passing of Taylor Hawkins. In a tweet, the US rock band said: “His musical passion and infectious laughter will live on forever.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, and family during this unbearably terrible time.”

The Foo Fighters were supposed to headline Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá, Colombia, on Friday, March 25. The festival confirmed the band had withdrawn from the three-day event owing to Hawkins’ death. In a statement, the band said, “Due to a major medical issue, the Foo Fighters cannot perform tonight and have cancelled the rest of their South American tour.”

Fans gathered outside the band’s hotel in Bogota, where Hawkins was found dead.

After Colombia, Foo Fighters were set to play Lollapalooza Brasil in So Paulo on March 26 before resuming their US tour.

Hawkins, who replaced founding drummer William Goldsmith in 1997, received many tributes.

During a concert in Monterrey, Mexico, Coldplay dedicated Everglow to Hawkins, calling him “a lovely, beautiful man”. Miley Cyrus dedicated her next concert to Hawkins.

“You’d come see me play in dive bars and be like, ‘kid you’re a star,’” Travis Barker wrote. Even if I believed you were insane, you gave me hope and determination.”

M.C. Tom Morello of R.A.M. praised Hawkins’ “spirit and irresistible rock power”, while Ozzy Osbourne called him a “great person and an excellent guitarist”.

Hawkins, from Laguna Beach, California, was Alanis Morissette’s touring drummer before joining the Foo Fighters when their previous drummer resigned. Hawkins stated last year he “scrambled” to get Dave’s number. I thought Alanis wanted a more relaxed vibe and it was the appropriate time to jump. “I wasn’t needed!” “His musical spirit and contagious laughter will never leave us.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, and family during this unbearably terrible time.” No cause of death was given.

Taylor Hawkins How Did He die

The 50-year-old percussionist died in a hotel room in Casa Medina, north of Bogota.

As reported by various Colombian newspapers, the cause of death has yet to be determined.

“Persons close to him say he died from drug overdose.”

Since 1999’s There Is Nothing Left To Lose, he’s played on eight studio albums. The band’s music developed from straightforward hard rock on their first two albums to a more melodic, radio-friendly style. Learn to Fly, Times Like These, The Pretender, All My Life, and Best of You are just a few of the Hawkins-assisted classics.

Hawkins was the band’s most visible member after founder and frontman Dave Grohl, routinely appearing in interviews with Grohl and appearing in the band’s videos. He also co-starred in the Foo Fighters’ recent horror-comedy flick Studio 666.

Grohl played drums for Nirvana until Kurt Cobain died in 1994, and his style influenced Foo Fighters. In the studio, Hawkins said, the records are very much his vision. “He often does demonstrations, and you attempt to sneak in your own licks… It is not an easy job. But that’s not because he’s a jerk. I struggle to impress him. We recognise the wider picture and work with it.”

Hawkins was in a coma for two weeks after a heroin overdose in August 2001. “I just went out of control,” he later admitted. “I went too far. “I’m delighted it was smacked in the head.”

And his three children survive him.

“Amazing musician” and “unstoppable rock power” have been described as the drummer’s qualities.
