DJ and producer from LA J. Worra has built a worldwide fan base with her new interpretation of house music. J. The EP starts with the title track “some people fall “, which is built around the fancy claps and disco-esque organ stitches and forms the ultimate dance floor groover in the presentation J. Worras a knack for reusing convincing vocal samples. Increase in energy with “Chunk-Funk”, the acclaimed hit maker uses an infectious, funky bassline and takes inspiration from Chicago House and Jackin House styles. The third and last track “YOU “feat. Cat Connors starts with a classic house influence, with an irresistible, soulful voice from Cat Connors then it turns into a pumping, technically inspired record.
Speaking of unusual method in creating “YOU ”, J. Worra shares “The idea for ‘“SHE” came through reverse engineering, I reused the drums from a remix I made over the summer (pro tip always save your drums), then found a vocals and chopped them up into a melody. The melody became the inspiration for Cat’s singing, which it utterly destroyed. I’m happy to round off the EP with this tamper! “
J. Worra has had an impressive career to date and has been recognized by tastemakers around the world including Insomniac, DJ Mag and Mixmag. Her DJ skills and talent in the studio have secured releases on notable labels Realm, Techne, Thrive, Mau5trap, Insomniacs In / Rotation & Dirtybird and landed her official remixes for Kaskade, Deadmau5, GRiZ, Felix Cartal and Kyle Watson.
