Dÿlan makes electronic dance music that includes the future bass, trap and dubstep styles.

“Dÿlan enjoyed music from a young age,” said John Hunter, Dÿlan’s father. “He has been dancing with Professor Ricky ‘Bird’ Clarkson since he was eight and at the age of nine he was a DJ at a silent disco at the Breakaway Music Festival in Grand Rapids. He got his first DJ kit for Christmas and has been addicted to it ever since. “

In 2020, during the pandemic, Dÿlan started music production and has several tracks due to be released soon in early autumn 2021. His new hit single “Down Tonight” will soon be available on streaming platforms.

“So far, Dÿlan’s passion for DJing and producing has been an amazing experience,” said Hunter. “Being part of such a close-knit community and learning from so many other artists was a humbling experience. Dÿlan works with other producers and has learned to work with singers to create his music. It was a wild ride, which I hope is only just beginning. “

Dÿlan recently renamed himself from the artist formerly known as DJ Dill Pickle before changing his stage name.

“When the pandemic started, it became clear that the time was right and natural to move on to the next phase and move from DJing to music producer,” said Hunter. “He DJed Dill Pickle for over 3 years and played shows across the Midwest, including a main day at the Milwaukee Summerfest in front of thousands of people. He’s DJs at festivals, arenas, baseball parks, pep assemblies, fundraisers, and many other functions. He’s opened up to some of the biggest acts in the world. “

The young artist hopes to somehow turn his passion for music into a profession.

Dÿlan will perform on Saturday, August 28th at 3:30 pm on the main stage of the Breakaway Music Festival in Grand Rapids. He will perform in the Confluence 2021 Music Showcase at the Confluence Festival in Grand Rapids on September 25th.

“Dÿlan received an offer from the festival talent booker who was genuinely interested in having a youth producer at a festival of this type in their first year,” said Hunter. “The Confluence lineup consists of national and local musicians who blend art, music and technology to create a powerful and diverse live experience.”
