‘Barkha Ritu’, a festival of monsoon ragas, travels through eight Indian cities
‘Barkha Ritu’, the monsoon music festival of the Mumbai-based cultural organization Banyan Tree Events, returns to Bengaluru on September 5th. The 20th edition of the event will also take place this year.
‘Barkha Ritu’, a festival of monsoon ragas, travels through eight cities: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. In Bengaluru it will take place on September 5th from 4.30pm in the Chowdiah Memorial Hall in a hybrid format. This means that few music lovers can visit or experience this festival online.
This concert features performances by violinist R Kumaresh, slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya and singer Pt. Venkatesh Kumar.
“It has been a difficult time for artists and music lovers for more than a year. We’re really looking forward to getting back on stage, but with a little caution, ”says Kumar.
Kumaresh added, “Music and music festivals are an integral part of Indian culture. They contribute so much to the value system and to the good of society as a whole. It is therefore important that the music festivals and concert halls open. “
The festival was first held in Mumbai in 2002 to experience the beauty of the monsoons through Indian classical music.
Tickets for the event in September (from 4.30 p.m.) are available on bookmyshow.com. For more information, visit banyantreeevents.com/barkha-ritu/
