AFTER 18 months of no live music suddenly there are new personal outdoor music festivals for Galway and Claregalway Castle is the venue.
Meet Me At The Castle, the newest music festival for Claregalway Castle, takes place on Saturday 25th September and Sunday 26th September. Indie rockers Jape, rapper Nealo and DJ Sally Cinnamon – more to be announced – play both days (but stage times and magical collaborative elements may vary).
The festival is presented by Hibernacle, the brainchild of Úna Molloy, Pearse Doherty and Peter Kelly. Úna Molloy is a booking agent, programmer and producer. She runs the Turning Pirate music agency and works with Lisa Hannigan, Ye Vagabonds, Booka Brass, Paul Noonan (Bell X1), Luka Bloom and Wallis Bird.
Pearse Doherty was Production Manager of Ed Sheeran’s Irish Tour in 2018, Site Manager of Electric Picnic from 2013 to 2017, and Tour Manager of Tommy Tiernan from 2005 to 2017. He was also a co-founder of the Galway Comedy Festival and played bass with The Saw Doctors from 1998 to 2002.
Peter Kelly is the drummer, producer, DJ and promoter of Birr. He also developed Camcor Calling, in response to the lack of music venues in the Irish Midlands in 2016.
Tickets and travel
Tickets are available from www.hibernacle.ie. Tickets are sold as single day tickets for the visit on Saturday or Sunday. This is an event over 18 years.
As per government guidelines for the capacity percentage of this event, all attendees must present their digital Covid certificate to attend.
Ticket holders can explore the grounds of Claregalway Castle, a c25-minute drive from Galway City, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
