Dwelling Free debuts ‘American Pie’ music video with Don McLean – Leisure Focus

Home Free and Don McLean

Home Free released the music video for their collaboration with Don McLean, a cover of McLean’s iconic song ‘American Pie’.

The video visually enhances the making of this all-vocal rendition of ‘American Pie’ and sheds light on each Home Free member and their individual pieces as they meet with McLean to tell the story of the rise and fall of rock and roll in the 1960s to sing.

It is released on the 62nd anniversary of ‘The Day The Music Died’, lovingly coined from the text in McLean’s signature anthem, in memory of the rock & roll legends Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper.

“Any song that has a legitimate melody is suitable for a cappella rendition,” McLean told The Tennessean, who premiered the video. “The Home Free guys just did their thing and did a great job too.”
