2021 Rose & Shamrock Celtic Festival canceled;  Bagpipes, Irish Music Competition Goes Virtual |  Food + life

In-person events for the Rose & Shamrock Festival 2021 have been canceled, according to Esther Pujol, chairwoman of the festival and owner of the Paloma School of Dance.

The Festival Committee will host the Irish music and bagpipe competitions virtually, although the dates for the competition have not yet been set. Details for the Irish dance competition have not yet been determined, said Pujol.

The festival, which began in 2013, regularly brings thousands of spectators to Celtic events along King Street, from dance competitions at the Lancaster County Convention Center to bands and happy hours at Tellus360 and Annie Bailey’s.

In a statement, Pujol said they “have high hopes that we will come back in 2022, better than ever.”

The 2020 iteration of the Rose & Shamrock Celtic Festival took place on Valentine’s Day weekend and brought representatives from 95 dance schools from across the country.
